NutriSport's ATP Muscle Fuel is the best of both worlds: complex carbohydrates with creatine and hydrolysed whey protein. The best part is that it comes in a delicious, fruit punch flavoured drink. Taken daily and after training it ensures maximum absorption to provide muscle and body energy together.
Creatine is the energy fuel for all sports that involve speed or power. A small quantity is produced naturally in the body, and some is found in red meat and fish (not vegetables). Increasing the amount of creatine in the muscles, through supplementation, will allow you to train/compete for longer. Taking creatine leads to increased endurance and lean muscle mass. The absorption of creatine is insulin driven. Taking creatine with a complex carbohydrate increases the production of insulin and therefore the absorption of creatine.
Carbohydrate is the fuel that the body uses during high intensity exercise, so taking the right carbohydrate at the right time can significantly improve performance and recovery. Muscle can only store a limited amount of carbohydrates (muscle glycogen) so this needs to be at a maximum before training and more importantly: replaced during and after training. Depleted levels of glycogen and lack of carbohydrates causes fatigue and impairs exercise performance. It can also cause the body to break down its own tissues for energy! Taking a complex carbohydrate drink will prevent this.
